If the double decker diffuser is proved legal, Red Bull being already very close to the Diffuser Gang could become a real threat, no? They both looked very racey on Sunday, and i really think that they will be really very competitive, and especially so with Adrian designing it.

What do you guys think? I for one hope that they are - it would make for a hideously exciting season!

Arent Red Bull the team who wont be able to fit the new diffuser due to the design of the back of their car??

If the diffusers are ruled legal i don't think RBR can easily develop their own due to how complex their rear end is already...

Oh...they'll get it done alright, they don't pay their engineers for nothing 8-)

The real question is, by when?

Exactly. Like i said, it won't be as easy for them as for other teams and so might take longer; however if anyone can figure that one out it's Newey.

Yeah, I reckon they'll come up with a very sophisticated solution.
They still have the Renault engine in the back though...

There was a rumour, but Red Bull are already developing one. They're just having to re-design their rear much more heavily. But theres no doubt they'll have one ready.

The rumour is that the teams will be racing this new diffusers during the Spanish GP. So we'll see. But Red Bull do have an advantage. They can pour a lot more money into development at will, simply because Red Bull isn't affected by the Credit Crunch. Unlike say Toyota, McLaren or BMW.

I have to agree. Vettel is one of the best drivers I have spotted in years. I mean it? He is fantastic and is going to blow my mind beyond my wildest dreams. This is a Kimi situation for me, supporting a driver that is not in my team cripples me :( He is an awesome driver and I believe this season numero 2 for the Bulls is a reasonable target for them. I do hope for Vettel to take his contract in the hands of Ferrari soon, He has the much-needed boost that we could use. Plus fellow countryman Schumi rates the lil guy quite highly ;)

Ok Thanks for that update.

If they can get a GeniusDiffuser fitted without compromising, they're looking very racy. Definitely going to be able to fight it out at the front. The unknown variable here is just how good the likes of Brawn and Toyota's Spain upgrades are. There's no way they've been asleep whilst the other teams have scrambled to design GeniusDiffusers.

Brawn in particular apparently have parts in the queue, including some new sidepods which are worth quite a bit of time. These are all rumours of course, but it stands to reason that the GeniusDiffuser teams can have spent their design time iterating n the rest of their cars whilst their competitors have wasted their time thinking the diffuser is the only reason they're quick and thus trying to copy it.

Red Bull is looking good.
Again... we all gotta wait until the diffuser issue gets solved. Otherwise, there is no real hope against Brawn, Toyota and Williams (if they are able to improve a bit).

The Red Bull is easily the best of the non-diffuser cars right now. I think Newey's inventive pull-rod suspension amongst other things probably explains its competitiveness right now.

But one thing I'm keen to know is how much power did Renault catch up with Ferrari? Because if it's still not as powerful, Red Bull should keep a close eye on Toro Roso once Bourdais has got himself used to the new car.

I dunno their engine power surely more balanced now?

At the moment it looks like Renault caught up a fair bit, but only time will tell.

If it IS as powerful that doesn't make sense, unless Bourdais and Buemi are poor drivers - because they still have the same chassis, yet are pretty much at opposite ends of the grid. Wtf?
