Piquet Senior genuinely believes he is God's gift to the world. I don't think he would even say his son is better than him, to be honest. And, if so, the point still stands, for out of the triple world champions, Piquet is probably the least respected.

I remember Piquet bragging about how his son is in F1 and Mansell's are only in the junior formula's. Mansell gets the last laugh though cuz Piquet Jr. is the worst driver on the grid by a longshot.

I think Renault will get rid of Piquet mid season if he cant match the pace of Alonso, or at least come close to Alonso's pace.

He didn't do that all of last year and they still refused to let him go, so you never really know...

Wasn't is clear to everyone that the seat for this season was given in return to his contribution to the teams success in Singapore GP last year. I actually cannot see any other reason why he would stay after last year.

I really don't know how to say this seeing this is his second yr in f1. But Piquet clearly needs time to develope, probably spending a season at Toro Roso or Force India. It'b interesting to see Bourdais or Sutil in the other Renault. Some who can at least push Alonso somewhat.

Perhaps they're keeping Piquet there to massage Alonso's bruised ego after his encounter with Lewis

I was hoping Bourdais would get Piquet's seat during the winter, but when the rumour materialised Flavio dropped an anvil on it by slagging off Bourdais and calling him "old".

I think Bourdais' problem is that he doesnt adapt very fast.
