1) He should never have let Trulli go back though after he went off the track
2) If he complied with 1)above, 3rd was his anyway
3) Whoever was giving him that instruction over the radio wants sacking for neglect/ignorance
4) Dave his race manager was bang out of order and deserves his suspension (at least)
5) Leave Lewis alone now, he's made the mistake of going against his principles, he went along with his boss at the Stewards meeting and has now paid the price. The poor lad is at rock bottom, he know's that, he's acutely aware of the media reporting and that he made a grave error of judgement by following his race manager's statement at the meeting. Worse things are happening in the world......move on

6) Oui, mon général!

It's funny that you say Ryan is fully deserving of his suspension, but seem not to mention the fact that Lewis hasn't suffered similar punishment. Or any visible punishment.

Silly Denthul, you forgot that the media and public response has been punishment enough.

Quite why it wasn't enough for Dave Ryan, who up until now didn't have to worry about media and public scorn of any kind, I shall never know.

If you punish one, you've surely got to punish the other? Unfortunately, Dave Ryan's suspension was all to protect Lewis' image.

I'm sorry, I must have missed his disqualification, removal of his 3rd podium and loss of 6 points, how remiss of me

That was all FIA-imposed. Dave Ryan was not suspended by the FIA, but by McLaren. Dave Ryan represented McLaren and lost the six points for the team. He suffered that as punishment, but still received another from the team.

He's bloody lucky. If he'd had pulled that stunt in the witness box in a crown court trial, he'd be now now locked up for perjury, trapped up in a cell with some 18 stone animal and after lights out pleading for his cell mate to be gentle with him

And so would Lewis.

Basically, you're just doing exactly what McLaren want people to do - believing that it was all Dave Ryan and that Hamilton is just an innocent victim.

Have a read elsewhere regarding my comments regarding Lewis. He made a grave error of Judgement, He didn't need to let Trulli back through after Trulli went off the track, but he listened to team orders and did so. He went into that Stewards meeting knowing full well what had happened, but still listened to team orders (Ryans). He chose to let Ryan mislead the Stewards to say there had been no instructions on the radio to tell Lewis to let Trulli back through. Thats what bolloxed Hamilton. As a consequence of obeying and misguided loyalty to his team manager (Ryan), by staying quiet and letting his boss tell some porkies, Hamilton was stripped of his podium and points. Watch Hamilton's press conference again, he is absolutely gutted, he know's he has done wrong and is paying the price.

Both Hamilton and Ryan were questioned by the race director and both of them would have had to answer the question. I can't believe you're choosing now to simply deny that he had any part in it. You should probably come and join the rest of us in a place I like to call reality ;)

He did have a part in it, a big part, he could have simply said to the stewards, "Hang on, I was told to let trulli past on the radio"
He didn't, that was his mistake. So wind your neck in, I'm not in denial, nor condoning his behaviour on this thread or any other, I've been consistant throughout. But when it comes to punishments Ryan, has to take the lions share, he was Lewis's boss, he instructed Lewis to either stay quiet or deny, either way Ryan was his gaffer and has to take the fall. You implied Lewis wasn't punished, Yes he damn well has, in his loss of reputation, loss of podium and loss of championship points

At the end of the day mate its all speculation i mean for all we know Hamilton could of said to Ryan "i'm keeping that 3rd place so just go along with what i say"

But i doubt that the accepted opinion is somthing like - Ryan said to LH "don't mention the fact we told you to let Trulli pass".

and Hamilton has gone along with it, now thats wrong but i've been in a situation like that and if somone above you say that its not always easy to go back on it especialy when the situation where you might need to keep your mouth shut is comming up.

It was wrong for Lewis to do this but like is said it sounds like he was in a difficult situation.

The question is was Ryan doing it off his own back or had somone higher up i.e Martin told him to do so.

oh and madmax - wind your neck in its a fourm and were debating so calm down.
