Isn't it great to see such teams as Brawn GP, Toyota, Red Bull and Williams outperforming their bigger counterparts. It's about time as well. The sheer arrogance of Ferrari, Renault and BMW really got to me. They think it's their God given right that they are better than everyone else.

This is why the Diffuser issue is really annoying me. We've got those three teams (Ferrari, Renault and BMW) acting like juveniles 'just cos the smaller teams made better cars than ours'. Flavio Briatore is one who gets on my nerves. He can't accept that his team has made a dog of a car, and has gone about his usual arrogant self of late and starts mouthing off about the genius that is Ross Brawn. Never trust this guy, he chucked Jenson Button out of Renault 'because he was a playboy' (and also because he didn't want his lover boy Alonso being threatened). Try looking in the mirror Flavio!

There is some fear in me that the Diffuser Row is going to go against Brawn, Williams and Toyota and that the big boys are going to get their way - well, the FIA does stand for Ferrari International Assistance, doesn't it? Surely it can't go against them - it would be the biggest farce ever if the diffuser teams were deemed illegal.

Here's hoping that the bigger teams are humiliated for the whole season. :drink:

Just wait for Chinese GP. Order will be:
Ferrari
Mclaren
BMW
Brawn
Toyota

Don't count on any order like that for a long time yet. Whilst McLaren/Ferrari/BMW are trying to catch up, Brawn/Toyota/Williams will be making their cars faster as well. They won't sit back and rest their laurels on the diffusers.

What would make me laugh about Flavio would be if Renault are caught trying to sneak back in their banned Mass Damper system. Flavio would be a total hypocrit.

I'm sorry, but where did you come up with that? Ferrari and McLaren are both nowhere, they can't just jump to the head of the pack in 1 race.

I think expects for Ferrari, McLaren and BMW to leap ahead when they get their redesigned chassis and new diffusers. I wish I shared his confidence but I don't!

Those updates are due for Spain, surely?

Jez why can't some fans just accept the big teams have been outfoxed and won't magically win the next race just because their names are Mclaren, Ferrari or BMW

To be fair a McLaren finished 3rd and 7th in the last two races despite a poorly performing car and their updates come on line in Spain. But I agree that Brawn and Toyota will take some catching

Yeah they are sorry I thought he put Spain

[EDIT] Though I would like to see McLaren to have some big updates before Spain.

True, but some of that has been down to good driving from Hamilton and special circumstances (safety cars, people falling off the circuit etc.). In terms of raw pace, McLaren are very much in the midfield. The MP4-24, out of the box anyway, is the worst performing McLaren since about Ron Dennis became involved with the team. :yikes:

I agree. We heard the commentators telling us that Lewis' fastest lap was around two seconds of Jenson's general pace. If the race had stayed completely dry, the McLaren probably wouldn't have touched the top ten, nevermind the points.

Yeah I know that. They need big developments!! And sorting out that niggling aero problem.
#102624
The MP4-24 has a lot of potential. It's not a bad car per se; it just has one flaw: its aerodynamics. Apart from that, the car's a dream. McLaren have done a great job with the electronics etc. and Mercedes have built a cracking engine. If the aerodynamics are sorted, McLaren will be back in the hunt.

They had a re-designed exhaust layout which seamed to help in Qualy

i expect they'll have a bunch of new parts for China

then more for spain.

Yes Lewis confirms that. Says its a great car, just not yet fast enough
