Whatever racing we did see today was very entertaining. It's no surprise that Brawn won another Grand Prix. Button is a solid performer and the car is great. The only time the Brawn is under threat is when another car with KERS is following it; but if it can hold off the other car, then it will drive off into the distance. Heidfeld drove another good race. In odd situations, his smooth style and racing savvy really pays off. He's handy to have about the place. I don't know what Ferrari were thinking of putting wets on Raikkonen's car. The track was bone dry and their pace was so bad they actually cost themselves much more. Desperado stuff. Since Brawn left, Ferrari's strategy department has made numerous gaffes.

And final word has to go to Ecclestone: slap it up ye! :knob:

Are you pissed with Kovi?

What even happened with him?

from onboard with massa just looked as if the car bottomed out then stepped out and then just lost it :S..lucky not 2 take out lewis and massa

One thing that did make me laugh though was the sight of Kimi walking around with an ice cream, can of cola and in his shorts and flip flops.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

It seems that only me and Kimi knew it was over as soon as the flag came out. How anyone could have thought they'd restart the race is beyond me. :P

I'm not sure what happened to Kovalainen. I'd need to see it again. I don't think he got on the marbles, because I don't think he was wide enough for that. It really looked as though either his car bottomed out or the rear end started getting twitchy and off he went, in which case it would not have been his fault.

It's also worth pointing out that nobody died today. When the rain got bad, the safety car was deployed, the race was red flagged, and it never really looked like getting started again.

Indeed. It seemed to be pretty random and out of his control, much like Piquet with the cold tyre/brake combination at Melbourne. The McLaren has been riding low all weekend and throughout every session I've seen sparks coming off the back of Kovalainen's car, so it is entirely possible that his tyres hadn't been heated enough on the parade lap, had cooled too much whilst waiting on the grid and thus caused his car to be lower than it should have been.

And yes, you're right. :)

Kovalainen's off, when thinking about it, was quite similar to Senna's on 1st May 1994 (obviously without the same consequences): a car with cool tyres, low ride height and twitchy rear end.

Did everyone here Rob Smedley call Massa "Felipe, Baby"?

Worth it just for that :hehe::thumbup:

Yes that was funny!!

As I commented on the Ferrari thread, that part made me laugh as much as Kimi with his ice cream. :hehe:

Ya i did. What was that about!? :hehe:

Edit: Obviously his visor was tinted and he needed a clear one, but what was the "baby" bit about? :D

Well what to say, the race became a lottery. Heidfeld again with yet another 2nd place. Bringing his total of 2nd places to 8! He must be desperate for a win now.

Button was streaming away at one point, around his 2nd stop. The reality is, that stint won him the race because it gave him the cushion to make up for those extra pit stops. As well as whenever jumped both Rosberg and Truili in one stop. That brawn clearly is holding something back. So he deserved to win 100%. More impressive than his win in Oz for sure.

The first corner I was certainly right that Button would challenged for the lead. Their starts aren't just that refined. But I certainly didn't expect it to be from Rosberg. That was an amazing get away. Then some great pace. I think its 110% this year. Williams are back in great form. They'll also have KERS soon enough, so imagine who quick they'll be off the start then. Brawn have been lucky that the cars running KERS are all pretty slow and not close off the start. But Williams will be a serious threat later if they keep up the momentum. Just too bad it all went sour towards the end again.

Webber had some epic battles and I'm sure he hates KERS so much right now. He overtook Hamiliton and Alonso several times only to see them breeze past again. KERS is causing some nice racing now, but my opinion is that I'd rather see driver talent. Soon all the teams will have the un-reliable system, and it'll be even more of a stupid system.

I was quite sad that the race was cut short. But thats racing, and Bernie now looks like more of a sausage. Congrats, this years race achieved a total of 3 million more viewers who all woke up to watch a bunch of cars sitting on the pit straight with umbrellas. I'm sure they're estatic the race time was moved so that they could watch half a race.
