I was just taking a look at the weights of the cars that now have to be made public before the race. I really like this, what was once just speculative is now good pompous pub talk :drink:
Button is heavier than anyone else in the top 5, which is quite impressive. But something not so impressive is RBR's tactics, Vettle is starting 13th with the lightest fuel load, surely it would have been smarter to tank up, knowing that he wouldn't be in the top 10 even if he got pole. I guess he's just hoping for an amazing start, and a lot of rain.

1. Jenson Button, Brawn GP, 660kg
2. Jarno Trulli, Toyota, 656.5
3. Timo Glock, Toyota, 656.5
4. Nico Rosberg, Williams, 656
5. Mark Webber, Red Bull, 656
6. Robert Kubica, BMW-Sauber, 663
7. Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari, 662.5
8. Rubens Barrichello, Brawn, 664.5
9. Fernando Alonso, Renault, 680.5
10. Nick Heidfeld, BMW-Sauber, 692
11. Kazuki Nakajima,Williams, 683.4
12. Lewis Hamilton, McLaren, 688
13. Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull, 647
14. Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren, 688.9
15. Sebastien Bourdais, Toro Rosso, 670.5
16. Felipe Massa, Ferrari, 689.5
17. Nelson Piquet, Renault, 681.9
18. Giancarlo Fisichella, Force India, 680.5
19. Adrian Sutil, Force India, 655.5
20. Sebastien Buemi, Toro Rosso, 686.5

Wouldn't lighter be the better? if so Massa and Hamilton already fall behind.

Lighter is better if you're in open air and can fly away from the pack, and build up a big enough of a gap to do a pitstop in. Because lighter means you pit earlier, and possibly even means pitting once more, but that depends. The reason everyone outside the top 10 load the car up with lots of fuel is because a) they can, and b) its generally better to do so.

So it is probably better to weigh in at about 660? 665?

Being 660 on pole is a million times more preferable than being 647 and 13th. But which weight is preferable will depend on the tactics they're going for, and which tactics end up working best will depends on the conditions and other unforeseeables. We'll just have to wait and see.

Does anyone know how much KERS generally weighs? and who's running it this weekend?

about 40kg, but it's already factored in the weight, i.e., less movable ballast is put on. Looks like KR is not running KERS, not sure about FM.
