Do you buy products that sponsor your team or is it more about general brand awareness? For example if you supported force India and were looking for a laptop would you had bought a Medion? Or been disloyal and bought an HP or whatever.

As a footnote, I thought that I was quite impervious to advertising until I found myself buying 'King of Shaves' after shave balm as they sponsor powerboats (anything with an engine eh.)

I think Im a slave to advertising. I think?? But i get lewis stuff because its lewis stuff!And I nearly bought a Honda Earth Jacket cos I like the colour. And I DID buy a Jenson T shirt because it said "little bit racey" on it. So not sure what I am.

I would be surprised if anyone used certain brands solely because they were advertised on their favourite F1 car... that would be very strange indeed.

Brand awareness though, definitely. Say with Vodafone for example - if you were looking for a new phone contract you'd think to go and look at what they have to offer, you wouldn't (and couldn't) do that if you didn't know the company existed, or if they weren't a prominent company in your mind you would check other companies' offers first.

The only thing I can think of is Marlboro when I first started smokng, I wouldn't say that's what made me start but it let me know what to ask for at first.

An interesting question. I don't buy anything that is advertised on the BMW Sauber cars. Although I will be making the switch to Intel CPUs in the future, so from then on, I guess the answer to your question will be yes. I'm also an O2 customer and BMW Sauber used to be sponsored by O2, but I didn't take out my contract because of that fact.
