You know the person who i feel most sorry for is Heikki Kovalainen he gets disqualified as well! What has he done wrong? I know he crashed straight away but what if he had won the race or something similar and then got disqualified for doing nothing wrong! FIA really need to reform the rule book.

Yes he has McLaren got disqualified both drivers!


Are you serious? I haven't found that piece of information anywhere.

I'm assuming that because it says McLaren was disqualified then both drivers HK and Lewis got disqualified this is correct right?

[EDIT] I think I might have read it wrong I assumed when I read a few articles which said McLaren was disqualified then I look at F1 website and it says driver No1 so I guess it was just Lewis

Unfortunately, not at the moment. I am actually attempting to make contact with the FIA regarding the matter, although I don't expect much in reply.


Cool, I don't suppose I need to ask to keep us posted.

I find it strange that the only things they've released along with their accusations are the radio transmissions and the interview, both of which mean nothing without the steward meeting transcripts.

Stopping talking about this one racist statement it is treating the symptom, not the cause. There will be more problems down the line. Maybe we can draw up a list of unreasoning prejudices so that we can prepare for what might happen next time?


Let it go - I dont think anything will be done about it. I know its enuff to get mad about. instaed of dealing with the problem here on the thread, it will be locked and expected to go away. sorta like putting your head in the sand and the world dont exist.

The media have been saying 'Hamilton and McLaren disqualified' or words to that effect, however would assume that's just the standard media exaggeration...

...or, they're just referring to the fact that McLaren have also lost their points (despite it being Hamilton who is essentially the one in trouble here).

Don't know if this has been said already but heres what Hamilton was saying during the race
Phil Prew (race engineer to Hamilton): OK Lewis, you just need to make sure your delta's positive over the safety car line. After the safety car line the delta doesn't matter, but no overtaking. No overtaking.

Lewis Hamilton: The Toyota went off in the second to last corner I overtook him is that OK?

PP: Understood, Lewis. We'll confirm and get back to you.

LH: He was off the track. He went wide.

PP: Lewis, you need to allow the Toyota through. Allow the Toyota through now.

LH: OK.

(Hamilton yields to Trulli, unseen on TV screens)

LH: He's slowed right down in front of me.

PP: OK, Lewis. Stay ahead for the time being. Stay ahead. We'll get back to you. We're talking to Charlie (Whiting, race director).

LH: I've let him past already.

PP: OK, Lewis. That's fine. That's fine. Hold position. Hold position.

LH: Ask Charlie I already overtook him and I've just let him past so...

PP: I understand Lewis. We are checking. Now can we go to yellow G5, yellow Golf 5.

LH: If I don't have to let him past then I should be able to take that position back, because he made a mistake.

Dave Ryan (team manager): Yes, we understand Lewis. Let's just do it by the book. We're asking Charlie now. You are in P4, if you hold this position. Just keep it together.

PP: OK Lewis, your KERS is full, your KERS is full. Just be aware. You can go back to black F2, black Foxtrott 2.

LH: Have you found out from Charlie on whether I can take it back or not?

PP: We're till waiting on a response Lewis, still waiting.

PP: Lewis, work on your brakes please. Front brakes are cold.

DR: Lewis, If we are able to use, to deploy KERS that would be good. If you can deploy KERS please do so now.

PP: OK, Lewis, this is the last lap of the race. At the end of the lap the safety car will come in, you just proceed over the line without overtaking, without overtaking. We are looking into the Trulli thing, but just hold position.

(Hamilton finishes the race fourth, behind Jarno Trulli)

What remains to be seen is was it Hamilton or McLaren's idea to lie to the FIA

It means I suspect that Hamilton who drives for McLaren has been disqualified, not both drivers. If they dq'd both drivers would just confirm that McLaren are wasting their time participating

Yeah I think you are right it just means both drivers and constructors point don't count

I could, but I'd be willing to bet that they'd just send a reply stating that such an address was only for reporting website issues. May be worth trying just in case, though.

Only place I can fax stuff from is work, and if they found out there could be consequences. I'll just post a letter. Using a signed-for delivery service :P

Or we could give out their fax number to companies who send junk faxes? :D

What are you going to put in your letter? Something criminal I hope which will stirr Max right up. :twisted:
