Why I still wonder people are talking about BRAWN GP like it was a new team and a new car that was born yesterday. Yes what they achieved was awsome, but RB a genuis, the car was designed the minute the flag drop on the 2008 season, from scratch with a huge advantage over everyone else, all funded by Honda, all the way up to the last 2-3months of this season. They still have the same team funded/hired by Honda, its not a new team but with just a new name. They did an excellent job but for god sake, its not like they built this car in someone's backyard 1 week before Austrilia.

You're right in part. However, don't forget the circumstances! They had the psychological stress of not knowing whether or not they'll survive. They had no testing of their car to speak of. To show up with a car that fast out of the box is indeed a great feat and I'd credit Ross for a lot of that.

I understand their circumstances and not trying to take anything away from what they accomplish in 2-3 months but everytime I hear about them on TV its like they put this thing together over the weekend. Ross scraped the 2008 season and was already developing and testing the 2009 car during the 2008 season while everyone else was busy racing. After the season, Honda already gave Ross the inside track that they will be pulling out, Ross already had plan B in place and lining up the necessary finance to keep the team running. In short, Ross Brawn is a smart business man with a plan, he didn't just come up with this over the weekend and neither did the car.

The media always do that sort of thing. They (Still) think Lewis Hamilton struggled up from nothing to where he is now with the help of basically just his dad until benevolent Ron Dennis stepped in. It's kind of true, but they're ignoring the part where the first part is true for half the bleeding grid and most of them had to continue to fight it out for their careers even later on.

Note: In the interest of avoiding an argument, that is an example of the media making their own story, and in no way is meant to diminish the hard work Hamilton did on the way to F1 or Ron Dennis's good intentions

Everything you described here (e.g., Ross' decision to scrap the 08 season) is all part of what makes Ross a genius in my book. Now that he's a team owner/chief and with Peter Sauber retired, he's by far my favorite team boss  Too bad he's not a driver so I could root for him (I don't do teams, only drivers - and my heart still lies with BMW-Sauber if anywhere).
