There are so many tricks and twists a really cynical negotiator could pull on a rookie that its really not worth it for Lewis not to have his old man on
the end of a speaker phone thru
the process. Thats just common sense, thats a free resource that will at least spot
the tricks that one guy on his own just couldnt. I am surprised its Toto doing
the negotiations, i would bring in a
real bruiser and tell Lewis 'its out of my hands,
the board choose him' - as Toto would have to consider
the ongoing relationship with Lewis if
he screwed him too much.
On
the other hand Toto comes across as very very eager not to be
the guy who killed
the winning team by 'doing a McLaren' and so will maybe reveal to Lewis
the companies
real break points. If I was Lewis I would just play
the unsophisticated but 'relative value' obsessed sporting-ego. i.e - ' I dont
know jack about revenue or returns, I just
know I need to be on more than them 2 muppets Alonso and seb combined, and Imma gonna sulk and b!tch till I get it'
