Heikki Kovalainen topped the second practice session for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after pipping his team-mate, Lewis Hamilton, in the dying minutes of the session.
Starting at sunset, the Formula One drivers got their first taste of the transition from day to night racing, a factor which will feature in Sunday’s Grand Prix.
Jenson Button continued to be strong for Brawn. The newly-crowned world champion was third behind the McLaren after a late timed effort.
However the session did not run smoothly for BMW’s Robert Kubica after yet again suffering an engine failure.
