Former World Champion Jaques Villeneuve will race for Peugeot in the Le Mans 24 Hours, his first taste of racing since his departure of F1. The 1997 winner left the F1 scene after falling out with BMW-Sauber in the summer and it looks like NASCAR is still the Canadian’s first choice.
Former F1 driver Pedro Lamy and Ferrari’s test driver Marc Gene will partner Villeneuve in the diesel powered Peugeot 908. If Villeneuve wins at Le Sarthe, he will have swept four of Motor Racing’s most prestigious crowns – he currently has Champ Car (1995), the Indy 500 (1995) and more recently the F1 Title (1997).
Sebastien Bourdais, who drove in winter testing for STR, will pair up alongside Nicolas Minassian and Stephene Sarrazin in the second Peugeot.
