Sebastian Vettel topped the second Singapore practice session, with a late low-fuel run. The Red Bull driver was followed by Renault s Fernando Alonso with the McLaren of Heikki Kovalainen in third.
Mark Webber s world championship bid was compromised once more when the Australian driver crashed into the barriers on the start/finish straight, during the middle of the session. Despite this Webber was still the sixth fastest driver on the circuit.
Having topped the first practice session, Rubens Barrichello could only manage the eleventh fastest time.
