US GP Fears Eased

Fears over the future of the US Grand Prix have eased slightly after F1 organisers move closer to a deal with the city.

Mayor Lee Leffingwell has confirmed that the two sides are getting closer to a deal although council members and race promoters are still in the negotiation process.

It appears that instead of the city paying $4 million each year for 10 years, F1 will be picking up the tab. This is in contrast to earlier in the negotation process where race promoters were set to pick up the tab for the first year alone.
