Toro Rosso set to retain Buemi & Alguersuari

Toro Rosso has confirmed that Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari will remain at the Faenza-based outfit next year.

As the grid’s youngest line-up, both drivers have made significant progress within the team and have collected a total of ten points between them.

“I believe our drivers will be well prepared for 2011, which is why they are both confirmed for next year,” said team principal Franz Tost in a statement.

“It is also logical, because one key role of Scuderia Toro Rosso is to bring on young drivers from the Red Bull Young Driver programme and at the ages of 21 and 20 respectively, both Seb and Jaime certainly still meet the right criteria.”

Twenty one-year-old Buemi has been a member of the Italian squad since the beginning of 2009, with Alguersuari being taking over from Sebastien Bourdais from Hungary onwards.
