Toro Rosso may delay introduction of 2008 car

It seems Honda are not the only team who forsee problems supplying new cars for the start of the 2008 season Scuderia Toro Rosso had admitted that they may not introduce their new car until the start of the European races in the 2008 season.

Toro Rosso, like Super Aguri, run a customer car that is, the car is produced by Red bull Technologies. The final design for the car is set to be signed off fairly late to help give the engineers as long a development time as possible, and this means that there may not be enough time for Toro Rosso to get everything ready on the car for the start of the season.

The decision on when the new Toro Rosso will be introduced is still open with team principal Franz Tost stating that a decision has not yet been made. “At the moment it looks easier to start next year with this year’s model,” he explained. “We are reviewing the situation for next year right now, but we are not yet 100% certain what we will do.

“The people at Toro Rosso are pushing very hard and I must say that we are making steps forward – We are becoming better but at the end we have to prove it with results. It will be very hard work during the winter time and we will see where we end up next season.”
