Tilke visits Donington

With the recent revelation that Bernie Ecclestone is considering Donington Park as an alternative venue to host the British Grand Prix, reknowned circuit designer Hermann Tilke has visited the Leicestershire circuit.

Although many believe that Donington is not a suitable venue for Formula One and would need a lot of money poured into it to bring it up to scratch, Ecclestone seems determined to find an alterative track to Silverstone that can host the British Grand Prix if Silverstone bosses are unable to meet his demands.

Donington requires more renovation that Silverstone to bring it up to scratch, with modifications including potential lengthening of the circuit, a new pit area, a new paddock area, a revamped media complex along with the building of more grandstands.
