Suzuka extends Japanese GP contract

The Suzuka race circuit has secured a three year extension to host the Japanese Grand Prix after reaching an agreement with Formula One’s commercial rights holders.

The Mobilityland Corporation which operates the Suzuka Circuit has
concluded an agreement regarding the promotion of the Japanese
Grand Prix with Mr. Bernie Ecclestone, President of the FOA
(Formula One Administration Limited) that controls all commercial
and promotional rights to the FIA Formula One World Championship.

The Japanese Grand Prix will be held at the Suzuka Circuit on
October 4, 2009 after two years of absence. It will play host to
the Japanese Grand Prix for three years in a row.

Mr. Oshima said: “We are delighted that the Suzuka Circuit will now
safeguard one of our most important national sporting events by
playing host to the Japanese Grand Prix for the next three years.”

Mr. Ecclestone commented: “I have done, and will continue to do,
everything to make the Japanese Grand Prix successful.”
