Scuderia Toro Rosso are delaying plans to race their new STR3 at the Turkish Grand Prix next weekend. The team have delayed the launch thanks to a lack of spare parts for the car. Instead, Toro Rosso will continue to use a modified version of last year s STR2.
It is understood that the big accident by Bourdais in pre-Spanish Grand Prix testing has delayed their tight manufacturing schedule and the team have decided that not enough spare parts have been manufactured to allow them to race the new car at the Turkish Grand Prix.
The team may also choose to delay the launch of the STR3 further Monaco is the next race after Turkey and the team are currently questioning whether it is a good place to debut a new car. Therefore it is highly likely that the STR3 will make it s debut in Canada instead.
