Stewards hit drivers with five-place grid penalties

Race stewards have hit a number of drivers with five-place grid penalities for tomorrow’s Japanese Grand Prix after not lifting off during a yellow flag period.

Brawn’s  Jenson Button, team-mate Rubens Barrichello, Renault driver Fernando Alonso and Force India’s Adrian Sutil were all judged to have not lifted in the yellow flag area after Sebastien Buemi’s crash in Q2.

Buemi was also reprimanded for continuing to drive his damaged car to the pits, impeding other drivers in the process.

The move will seriously hamper both Brawn GP’s drivers as they look to sew up the Constructors championship.
