Orgainisers of the European Grand Prix, in Valencia, have reported an increase in ticket sales amidst the return of Michael Schumacher to the sport.
Initial ticket sales for the event had been poor, and news of Fernando Alonso’s ban, had further put the event in jeopardy.
However the return of Schumacher has resulted in a surge in sales, with over 10,000 extra tickets being sold.
“The previous week the number was barely 6,500,” revealled Organiser Valmor Sports’ operations director Carlos Moreno, in conversation with the German Press agency DPA.
According to Moreno, half of the 75,000 tickets have now been sold.
“The news of his return has been known the same week of the possible absence of… Fernando Alonso,” he added. “Therefore the tickets sale has been slightly compensated.”
