Rumours fly after Hamilton has talks with Red Bull

The F1 rumour mill has cranked into top gear this evening with the sensational disclosure that Lewis Hamilton visited Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner following the Canadian Grand Prix.

Hamilton is reported by Autosport to have spent at least 15 minutes in the company of Horner, an unusual length of time and unlikely to have been spent apologising for the McLaren man’s lap 1 contact with Webber.

The Englishman has endured a torrid time of late and is rumoured to be unhappy with McLaren’s inability to provide a competitive car in qualifying. His discontent was thought to be compounded by his team’s bringing a high downforce rear wing set up to Canada, which adversely affected their qualifying speed.

Although Red Bull represent the most likely destination for Hamilton in the event he was to move, it is understood that his leaving McLaren remains a distant possibility. He has confidence in the team, with whom he has been since he was a child.
