Rosberg fastest in damp conditions

Just four teams decided to brave the weather and let their cars on-track yesterday thanks to damp weather conditions at the Barcelona circuit.

The track was damp for the entire session and just eight drivers were seen on track. Williams were the only team to put in any decent testing, and it was no surprise to find Rosberg topping the timesheets, nearly two seconds ahead of his team-mate Nakajima.

Mark Webber managed the third quickest time of the day, despite only completing 26 laps. Team-mate David Coulthard put in the fifth fastest time of the day, finishing just 22 laps. Fernando Alonso was the man splitting the two Red Bull drivers, with his team-mate Nelsinho Piquet finishing in seventh place. The Toyota of Jarno Trulli finished in sixth place, with the team s test driver only completing an installation lap before deciding not to continue on.

Despite the lack of running, there were four red flags during the way. Piquet caused the first when he stopped at the beginning of the session. He also caused the final red flag just before midday when he span at Turn 5. Coulthard was the man who caused the other two flags, each time because of a spin.
