Rosberg contemplating team switch?

Williams FW30 F1 carWilliams driver Nico Rosberg has revealed that he may not stay with the team beyond the end of the season. In an interview with German newspaper Sport Bild, Rosberg was asked whether he would still be at Williams for the 2009 season. “I have a contract,” Rosberg replied. “It is like football though. Take Podolski he signed a contract for next season at FC Bayern, but will he stay there?”

Sport Bild then asked if another F1 team were looking to buy him, what the process would be. “The first thing would be to talk to Frank Williams,” Rosberg replied. “I would only start to think it if Frank agreed to release me.”

Rosberg also explained that he was disappointed that Williams have not done as well as they had hoped and that he does not believe that they will have the car next season to win the championship, however he hopes the car will be an improvement.

“At the beginning, we were looking very good,” he explained. “But we weren t able to keep up with the development progress of the top teams. I know that next year I won t win the title with Williams but I hope we will take a big step forward.”
