Renault have denied rumours that they are planning to introduce a radical new W-wing at the first F1 Grand Prix of 2008.
There were reports that the team were planning to unveil their new device in Australia they did not want to test with the new wing in case other teams copied it before the start of the season. It was rumoured that the W-wing was worth around half a second per lap.
However Spanish newspaper Marca has claimed that pictures of the wing, which have recently surfaced on the internet, are fakes made up by inventive fans. Fernando Alonso has also insisted that his team were not planning anything revolutionary for the start of the season, although the team were planning to testing some improvements to the front of the car which was hoped would make it one or two tenths quicker per lap.
