Will there be yet another change to the scoring system ahead of the 2010 F1 season?
In December, the existing points system was amended to 25 for the win followed by 20-15-10-8-6-5-3-2-1 to help prepare for the larger grid. However several newspapers have reported that this system may be slightly amended to 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1.
The modified system would be closer to the ‘medals’ idea floated by Bernie Ecclestone which would see more incentive for drivers at the front of the field to overtake for race victories, rather than settling for good, consistent points scoring mid-field.
