Fans of the ex-Formula 1 Sauber may soon be able to get their hands on some of the team s F1 race cars.
According to German new agency SID, Sauber will be auctioning off some of their cars at Zurich s Kloten airport from the 19th February. One of the cars set to go under the hammer is the first Formula 1 car that current World Champion Kimi Raikkonen drove in 2001. Jean Alesi s Sauber car is also set to be auctioned off.
The Sauber team raced in Formula One between 1993 and 2005 before being bought by BMW and rebranded as BMW Sauber . The team s most successful season was 2001 when they finished fourth in the constructor s championship.
