Williams have chosen not to hold an official launch of their 2008 car, the FW30. Instead, the team will focus their efforts on improving the car in the hope of returning to the front of the grid this season. In addition, with drivers Kazuki Nakajima and Nico Rosberg already announced for 2008, the Grove-based team probably see little point in holding such a grand event.
2007 was a relatively good season for the team, finishing fourth in the Constructors Championship, and they will be looking to build upon this in the hope their FW30 will take them back to winning ways.
Quite how this will affect the relationships between the team and their sponsors, who are increasingly looking for opportunities to show-off their costly branding, remains to be seen – let us hope that negating an Official Launch is not a bad omen for the team.
