Newey: Webber will be one to look out for this season

The Red Bull team believe that Mark Webber can bounce back and have a strong 2012 F1 season.

Team Principal Christian Horner believes that the Australian driver has had a good off-season and will be in good form in the coming season.

“I think the best tonic for Mark was to finish the year strongly to win that final race, to go into the season having won the Brazilian GP,” Horner said. “I think he’s had a very strong off-season. He’s recharged his batteries, he’s trained hard and he’s come back looking fitter and leaner than ever. He’s in strong shape for the season ahead.”

Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey believes that Webber may be one to look out for this season.

“Mark had a rocky ride last year,” Newey commented. “Through his 2010 he had a very good season and he was unlucky in many ways not to be World Champion at the end of that year. 2011 he initially I think struggled a little bit to understand how to use the Pirelli tyres.

“It took a little bit of time for him to adapt to them. He’s had a great winter, he’s tremendously fit, he’s really looking forward to the start of the season and I think he’ll be one to look out for this year I hope.”
