Rumours are rife that Michael Schumacher will return to competitive motorsport in 2007 and compete in NASCAR s Nextel Cup Championship. If the rumours are to be believed, the former Ferrari driver will compete in two road races in a deal worth US $10 million.
It all sounds a bit far fetched, but he wouldn t be the first F1 driver to be tempted toward NASCAR. Juan Pablo Montoya, who was dropped by McLaren mid-season after his surprise decision to join Chip Ganassi Racing, will debut in Texas after finally being released from his F1 contracts. He will compete in the final three races of the Busch Championship this season.
