Felipe Massa will be taking over from Valentino Rossi, testing out the 2008 Ferrari on Friday.
Rossi has been running the Ferrari at a private test session at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. Both men have been using a 2008 F1 car on GP2 tyres in accordance with the current ban on testing.
Massa is looking forward to his third F1 test since his massive accident at the Hungaroring last summer which left him with a fractured skull.
“As the car and the track were available I thought it would be helpful to go onto the track for a day to continue gaining confidence,” Massa commented.
“After the days in Fiorano and Mugello this will be a nice opportunity to get back driving on such an interesting and challenging track.”
Adverse weather conditions restricted Rossi’s time on track on Wednesday however he was able to put a couple of dry laps in. Despite spinning twice early in the session, he recorded a best time of 1:25.2.
