Felipe Massa will continue recovering from his life-threatening injuries at home after undergoing a series of tests at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo.
Massa, who flew back to Brazil on Monday after being discharged from the AEK Hospital in Budapest, was cleared of any abnormalities after having a further thorough medical examination upon his return.
“Felipe has had a remarkable recovery,” said Massa’s personal doctor Dino Altmann in a statement issued by Ferrari. “We did a series of in-depth tests and the outcome is very encouraging so that we, together with the hospital’s medical staff, decided that it wouldn’t be currently necessary to further intervene from a surgical point of view.
“The best thing for him now is to go back home, where he can calmly convalesce and rehabilitate.”
Former teammate and seven-time World Champion, Michael Schumacher, will replace the Brazilian at the European Grand Prix in Valencia, later this month.
