Massa return still some time away

Rubens Barrichello remains encouraged by the progress of Felipe Massa after spending an afternoon with his fellow Brazilian on Wednesday.

Massa is continuing to recover from his injuries, sustained after being struck on a helmet by a spring from Barrichello’s car, during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Writing on his official Twitter page, Barrichello claimed that his friend is making remarkable progress and in high spirits.

“I spend the afternoon with Felipe…he is fine and exactly the same person as before..thank God.”

However the Brazilian veteran also warned that Massa’s return to the Grand Prix world could still be months away.

“On Felipe’s comeback we need to be patient, he has to be 100 per cent before driving again (but) he doesn’t lack the will,” Barrichello added.
