Marko: Vettel Not Tempted By Ferrari

Having recently lured Neil Martin away, Ferrari are allegedly trying to poach more staff from Red Bull to boost their team.

Talking to German newspaper Bild Helmut Marko commented, “Ferrari are making a concerted effort to sign our staff. But they people they have approached are staying with us.”

There are rumours that current F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel could be tempted away to join the scarlet-clad team however Marko denied that Vettel would be leaving any time soon. “Sebastian won’t leave us just for the Ferrari name,” he said. “He is smart enough to know that all situations need to be favourable. He will not join Ferrari while Alonso is there – that would be really daft.”

Both Vettel and Alonso have contracts with their respective teams until 2012.

Marko did admit that the lure of the Ferrari name could tempt Vettel in the future – as most racing drivers dream of racing for the historic team – however Red Bull are working hard to keep their car ahead of the field to ensure that Vettel remains with them.

However on the topic of the new Red Bull machine, Marko refused to be drawn saying little other than from what he has seen, he is optimistic about the new car.
