Manager claims Kubica is now on the market

Following Wednesday’s announcement that BMW will leave Formula One at the end of 2009, the manager of Robert Kubica has announced that his driver is now on the market.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Daniele Morelli has claimed that Kubica is now free to drive for any team next season, despite being under contract with the Swiss-German squad until the end of 2010.

“There was no sign inside the team that something like this could happen. We take note of it,” said Morelli while reflecting on Wednesday’s shock announcement.

“Robert was under contract until the end of 2010, but now he’s officially on the market.”
