With Felipe Massa topping the testing timesheets in Bahrain last week, Kimi Raikkonen is confident that Ferrari will be heading to Albert Park as the favourites to win. “The new car is very good,” Raikkonen said. “We will try to win as many races as possible and take the title. We will arrice at the first race in the best possible form. Everything is going OK at the moment and testing with the new package went well last week. We are happy with almost all aspects of the car.”
However, with McLaren not too far behind, and rumours of Renault ‘sandbagging’ in testing, and with BMW surprising many with their pace equal to that of the top teams, Raikkonen is reluctant to predict who will win the first race of the season.
“Of course it is difficult to know what the others are doing,” he explained. “We will have to wait and see what happens in Melbourne, but we are happy with the way the car performs. It is sufficiently fast and we are very positive.”
