Hakkinen’s new role

Former double Formula One world champion Mika Hakkinen has taken up a new role as a member of the Laureus World Sports Academy.

The 39 year old Finn joins 44 other legendary sportsmen and women including Boris Becker, Emerson Fittipaldi, Michael Johnson, John McEnroe, Jack Nicklaus and Steve Waugh. Each year, members of the academy vote via a secret ballot to choose winners of the Laureus awards.
