GP2 series organisers have revealed that they are launching a new series GP3 in 2010. The series will feature cars with 2 litre engines with around 250 bhp. The chassis, engines and tyres have yet to be confirmed organisers will be consulting with manufacturers who show an interest in the series before finalising any plans.
Meanwhile, Formula 2 promoter Jonathan Palmer has revealed that the winner of the F2 series will win a full test role with the Williams F1 team. The prize has come about because the Williams team will be designing the F2 car from 2009 and therefore already have strong links with the series.
It has already been confirmed that the Formula Two series will be based on the World Touring Car schedule rather than the F1 calendar.
