Giancarlo Fisichella took Force India’s maiden pole position with a superb lap around Spa Francorchamps. The Italian’s lap underlined the Silverstone-squad’s pace with Adrian Sutil also strong in Q2.
Qualifying was full of surprises with both Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton being eliminated in Q2. Red Bull failed to deliver on their promise with both drivers down at the bottom end of the top-ten.
