FIA make their presence felt

The FIA have made their presence strongly felt at Jerez this week. Two FIA transporters arrived on Tuesday fuelling rumours that the governing body were intending to run some anti-doping tests during this week s test session. The strong showing is probably also a reaction to the racism issues that marred the previous test session in Barcelona.

There was only a small crowd at Tuesday s test session and no problems were reported, however it is likely that there will be a larger crowd on Wednesday when Spanish driver Fernando Alonso begins some test runs for Renault.

British paper the Daily Star said that the 250 Spanish supporters seen at the track had been hand picked by Jerez circuit officials and that anyone who looked like they were going to cause even the smallest amount of trouble was turned away from the track.
