It has emerged that the FIA had no idea that the FFSA were not planning to host the 2009 French Grand Prix until they released a public statement on Tuesday. The FIA has now written to the French motor sport federation asking them to clarify the situation.
Talking to Reuters, an FIA spokesperson said, “The FIA secretary general has written to the president of the FFSA today to seek an urgent clarification of the situation of the French Grand Prix. Up until today we have heard nothing and we are gravely concerned.”
