Ferrari will be hoping that the weather improves today at Jerez after opting not to run because of poor conditions yesterday. The Italian marque chose to stay in the garage yesterday as heavy rain marred the testing session at the Spanish circuit.
Ferrari´s star performer Felipe Massa, who last season narrowly missed out on the world championship, was seen regarding the weather disdainfully from trackside in a Ferrari raincoat, but the new Ferrari F60 made no appearance.
Today the weather has improved but the rain is forecast to return and to stay in the region for the remainder of the week. Teams are still able to run and test reliability, which was what the new Williams in the hands of Nico Rosberg concentrated on yesterday. But for a number of reasons the poor weather will frustrate the teams, who under new regulations do not have as much time to test as they would like.
