Dennis tells Heikki: ‘Welcome to the world of winning’

The first man to congratulate Heikki Kovalainen after he came through a chaotic Hungarian Grand Prix to seal his maiden victory, was, fittingly McLaren Team Principal Ron Dennis.

The Finn was gifted the race win after Felipe Massa’s engine let loose with three laps remaining.

With team-mate Hamilton out of the picture – the British ace suffered puncture mid race – it was left to Kovalainen to pick up the pieces and lead McLaren home to victory.

The first person to congratulate him was team boss Dennis who said over the team radio: “Welcome to the world of winning. The first of many. Well done.”
