Charges against ex-Toyota employees dropped

Charges against three high ranging ex-Toyota employees have been dropped by Cologne prosecutors. Former Toyota vice-chairman Over Andersson, former chief designer Gustav Brunner, and former head of aerodynamics Rene Hilhorst were charged in January 2006 with using a data analysis program from Ferrari which they had bought to the Toyota team without the knowledge of their former team.

The case against the three men was due to be heard by a Cologne court that specialises in economic crimes. However, this week, authorities wrote to the men to tell them that the case against them had been dropped.
