Campos to announce de la Rosa and Petrov

New grand prix team Campos Racing is set to announce Pedro de la Rosa and Russian GP2 star Vitaly Petrov as their drivers for the 2010 season, reports say.

McLaren tester de la Rosa indicated the other day that he would relish a return to a race seat, having spent a number of successful years helping develop the English team’s cars.

“I have been with McLaren a long time,” the Spaniard told sports daily AS.

“I have a few more years of racing ability and would return to be with a team even that is not competitive.”

Radio Marca this week claimed that de la Rosa will line up alongside Vitaly Petrov, a Russian driver who has made his name in the GP2 series. Other names in the frame at the Spanish team include Nelson Piquet Jr and Sebastien Bourdais, refugees from Renault and Toro Rosso respectively.

No announcement will be made, it is expected, until after the European Grand Prix this weekend.
