Current Formula 3 Euro Series champion Jules Bianchi has been given a chance to test for Ferrari at the forthcoming young driver test day at Jerez.
Bianchi will be testing the Ferrari F60 for the first two days; the final day of Jerez testing will see the three top drivers from the Italian F3 championship of Pablo Sanchez Lopez, Daniel Zampieri and Marco Zioli behind the wheel.
“I am really happy,” Bianchi said in an interview with Autosport. “It is a very good thing for me to drive an F1 car, and especially a Ferrari, because for me it is the best team in the world. I will do my best and just learn, because the most important thing is to learn.”
“Of course it is really good. For me to drive the first time in an F1 car, and for it to be a Ferrari, it is just amazing. I cannot say any other words.
“I am so happy, yet I would like to be concentrated on the Macau race because it is really important to do a good result here. That is why I am focused on that, and when I get back home I will then concentrate on my test in Jerez.
“I will be able to go step by step and learn a lot, because it will be really important to make a lot of laps without crashing and without mistakes. It means I can go step by step until the last day when I can push a lot.”
