Barrichello targets 300 Grands Prix

Rubens Barrichello, the most experienced driver on the current F1 circuit who will equal Ricardo Patrese s record of 256 Formula One Grand Prix race starts this weekend in Bahrain, has no intentions of retiring from the sport.

Despite his contract with Honda running out at the end of the 2008 season, Barrichello is hoping that this season will not be his last and that he will be able to make at least 300 F1 Grands Prix.

“It is not my final year,” the F1 veteran explained in an interview with GPWeek. “I want to finish my career with more than 300 Grand Prix and slick tyres, all that!”

Barrichello started his F1 career with Jordan in 1993. During his 15 years in the sport he has seen 13 pole positions, 9 race wins and 61 podium finishes.
