Alguersuari to test for Red Bull

Current British Formula Three leader Jaime Alguersuari will be testing in F1 for the first time next week. The 18 year old Spanish driver will be testing for the Red Bull Racing team because their normal test driver Sebastien Buemi is unable to make the test as he will be on his way to Istanbul for a GP2 event.

Alguersuari will be taking the RB4 out for a shakedown before the Turkish Grand Prix at the Idiadi Proving Ground.

Talking to Autosport, Alguersuari said,” It s a very special opportunity for me and I wouldn t have imagined I would have this chance so early in my career. After Fernando Alonso I am the first driver from Spain to get a big contract, so of course the aim is Formula 1 and I am very thankful to Red Bull.

“This is like a present for me and I hope to learn the car and the environment as much as I can but my main goal this year still has to be F3 – I need win that championship.”
