2010 Turkish GP may be the last

The 2010 Turkish Grand Prix could be the last time that Turkey hosts an F1 race.

According to local media, Bernie Ecclestone has doubled the price of the contract to keep the Turkish Grand Prix to $26 million in 2011, nearly double the cost of the 2010 race.

With the Turkish Grand Prix already struggling to attract fans to the event, many believe that 2010 will be the last time Turkey features on the F1 calendar. 2009 saw just 36,000 three day tickets sold; the circuit has a total capacity of 130,000.

Officials have said that they will decide on whether or not to continue hosting a Formula One race next month.
