2009 French Grand Prix cancelled

The French motor sport federation, the Federation Francaise du Sport Automobile (FFSA) has announced that it will not be promoting the 2009 Formula One race, citing financial reasons for the cancellation.

“For reasons related to the financial situation, the Federation Francaise du Sport Automobile (FFSA) has decided to cancel the Grand Prix of France,” the FFSA statement read. “The FFSA would like to thank all spectators who attended the Grand Prix of France and have supported this international event in recent years.”

The 2009 F1 calendar is now left with 17 races. The revised calendar is now:
